This Isn't Morioh

A youth in a gakuran burst through the front door of the restaurant. It wouldn't have been so strange--this was a restaurant in Japan--but the boy himself was very strange. He stood tall, easily 180 centimeters, and a mane of long, blue-ish hair trailed behind him. Odder still, he seemed to be in bad shape; he panted heavily, gripping the nearest chair to steady himself.

"This is a restaurant, right?" he gasped. "Food. Water. Please. Now."

Genichi peered out from the kitchen, leering at the strange youth in his restaurant. Honestly, how many kids did he chase out of here? His restaurant was far too expensive for children to afford. He redid his ponytail as he emerged from the kitchen, his dark wavy hair nearly tangling beneath his fingers as he did so.

"You got money?" he asked point blank, raising the eyebrow over his one good eye.

He nodded eagerly, managing a smile. "I can pay. Please, water first."

Genichi squinted at him.

"Prove it."

He pulled a wallet out of his back pocket, sitting down in the chair. He pulled several large bills from the wallet and laid them on the table face up.

"Is this good?" he asked.

Genichi inhaled sharply. The kid did have money. What a surprise. And quite a bit of it, too...

He grinned in return. "Of course. So, water and...? Well, the menus on the table. Pick something and I'll bring it to you pronto."

If he had his way, he'd rob this kid blind. He saw some rare meat at the market today and surely it would still be there tomorrow, maybe if he got his hands on some extra cash he'd pick it up.

"What would you recommend?" he asked, frowning at the menu. "I'm not from around here. Just arrived, in fact."

Genichi set down a fresh glass of water in front of the kid. He smirked.

"Where you from, kiddo?" he asked, taking a look at his own menu. "You like sweet, spicy or savory best?"

"Sweet," he said proudly, much unlike a Japanese male. He took the glass of water and chugged it in practically one gulp.

Genichi rose an eyebrow. "Really now?" he wasn't exactly sure what to think of that. "Well, if you want, I have lamb with chocolate and mint sauce, it's a bit on the sweeter side."

And it was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. He'd encourage dessert, too, maybe the fruit parfait with lychee and mango...

"Anything would be good right now--I am very hungry. That sounds very good." He smiled at him; he had only just met this man, but he was already so kind and helpful.

"What is your name, sir?"

"Huh?" Genichi cleared his throat. Wasn't often people cared too much to know his name. "You can call me Genichi. No surname. You?"

"Nanda," he replied brightly, beaming.

Genichi pursed his lips.

"I said, what's your name?"

"Nanda," he repeated, still smiling.

Genichi furrowed his eyebrows.

"Are you trying to tell me that's your damn name?" he grumbled.

He nodded, frowning. "Yes, my name is Nanda. Is that bad?"

Genichi gave him a quizzical look and then looked away.

"Well, whatever kiddo. Be back once I prepare your food, got it?" he returned to the kitchen, a bit more confused than he'd been before.

Nanda waited calmly, tapping his fingernails on the table. The man in this restaurant was so kind and pleasing; he wondered if he was single.

Genichi returned much quicker than one might expect and he set the plate of hot food in front of Nanda.

"So, kid, you not from around here?" he asked curiously.

He shook his head, already cutting into the meat with his fork and knife, which he held at awkward angles.

"No, not at all. My home is very far away--trillions of kilometers."

"Oh. You're like, American or whatever?" he asked, looking at him closer.

He shook his head. "No, actually, I'm not from Earth at all."

Genichi stared at him, then sighed. Great, a crazy person. Well, he had money, so it didn't matter anyway.

"Yeah, really, where you from them, Mr. Alien?"

"A galaxy not too far from here," he said, stabbing a piece of lamb on his fork. He took a cautious bite, and his eyes lit up; he immediately began scarfing down more.

"This is delicious!!"
